i live in nebraska, and their are little brown moths that appear out of nowhere, and they love to feast on dried flowers. about 5 years ago i had an epidemic. has
anyone ever experienced this, and if so what did you do to stop the
manifestation. i had to throw everything away.
it was heartbreaking.

These critters are called Indian Meal Moths and I have read that they are the most common pests of food found in a home. They infest flour, pasta, cereals, cornmeal,
spices, dry pet foods, birdseed and certain dried florals, generally those that have been preserved with glycerin.
You must find all infested items and, as you did before, throw them out (in a sealed bag). One trick you can do in the winter with your drieds if you have had an
outbreak is to place the finished item in an unheated garage, shed, etc. A week of freezing temperatures should kill any eggs that may have been left. If you own
a chest freezer, this can also be accomplished throughout the year by placing the finished work in plastic bag and then store it in the freezer for a week.
It is important to check all possible infested foods though; you must remove them all.
Good luck and sorry.
